Connect Curriculum

Connect utilizes the DiSC assessment as a tool for exploring leadership adaptability, team culture, and interpersonal dynamics. Rather than treating a DiSC profile as a fixed identity or personality label, participants will examine how behaviors shift across environments, relationships, expectations, and experiences.

Participants will develop awareness of their non-dominant tendencies, understand how different environments call for different leadership behaviors, examine how team cultures reward or suppress certain ways of contributing, and build greater flexibility, empathy, and adaptability in leadership practice. This program positions leadership growth not as becoming “better” at your dominant style, but as developing the capacity to stretch beyond your default tendencies when situations and relationships require it.

Connect incorporates dialogue, strategic planning, and reflection. Participants can expect to build community with one another while developing leadership skills and having critical conversations about enhancing personal and collective leadership capacity. Ultimately, participants are asked to turn insight into action to enhance any leadership context they’re in.

Learning Outcomes

• Recognize DiSC as a flexible framework for understanding how leadership behaviors are shaped by context, culture, and experience rather than fixed personality traits.
• Explore the intersection of behavioral tendencies to identify opportunities for developing non-dominant leadership behaviors and increasing adaptability.
• Apply an understanding of behavioral diversity, team dynamics, and power to foster more inclusive, collaborative, and effective leadership within teams.

Participants will learn to:

• Expand their leadership beyond their natural tendencies.
• Strengthen communication and collaboration within teams.
• Increase adaptability by developing their DiSC Stretch Zone.
• Create environments where others can contribute, belong, and thrive.

• Facilitator guide to help prepare facilitators before their session and provide guidance during each session. The guide includes slide numbers from the presentation as well as participant page numbers to refer to during each session. 
• Slide presentation to use during each session. 
• Participant manual for everyone in each session to use. 
• Quarterly virtual coaching sessions with the LeaderShape staff.

Once you've purchased Connect, you can facilitate the program as many times as you like. Anyone on your campus can utilize these materials as they are written to facilitate the program on your campus. More than one person on your campus can facilitate this program.
